  • Emergency Food and Shelter - Emergency rent/mortgage, utility assistance and food.  The Emergency Food and Shelter Program is one of the few “handout” services offered. A total of 147 bills were paid for water, electric, gas, oil and coal. Two food pantries in the Pocahontas area were given food to assist area clients.   Click here to request more information.
     

  • Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) - Clinch Valley Community Action, Inc. is authorized as a Neighborhood Assistance Program.  This means that donations made to our organization are eligible for a Tax Credit.  An individual who donates at least $500 may receive a 40 percent credit on their Virginia Income Taxes for this year.  This would be $200 against your tax liability.  You can also claim the deduction on your Federal taxes.

    If you are a business, you can donate at least $1,000.  A business can also receive the 40 percent credit on their Virginia business taxes.

  • Southeast R-CAP - Assistance with water tap/hook fees, drilling of wells and preparing septic systems.  Click here to request more information.
     

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance - Clinch Valley Community Action, Inc. offers the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program to low income families. This program usually begins in February. Volunteers will assist individuals in preparing their federal and state income taxes.   • VIEW - Assessing strengths and weaknesses of clients in the areas of physical health, mental health, transportation, child care, education and others.  Click here to request more information.
