- 77
agencies and hundreds of assignments to choose from.
- Insurance
while volunteering.
- Recognition
of volunteer services.
RSVP projects include: Head Start - Food Pantries - American Heart Association -
United Way - Adult Literacy - America Reads -
Health Fairs - Nursing Home Placements - Neighborhood Watch - Chamber of
Commerce - Libraries - Schools - Red Cross Bloodmobile and many others.
Funding
for RSVP comes primarily from The Corporation for National
and Community Service. Funding is also received from the Tazewell County Board of
Supervisors, the United Way of the Virginias, the United Way
of SWVA and local fundraising.
CVCA's RSVP
program currently has more than 405 senior volunteers over
the age of 55 of which 31 were enrolled over the past year. They serve through through 80 agencies
throughout Tazewell County.

During 38
years of service in Tazewell County, over 1,200 volunteers
have served more than 25,000 clients with over 1.7 million hours.
The past year’s stats show 142,806 hours served, for a value
of $857,000.
Volunteering
helps seniors stay active longer. Studies show that
seniors who volunteer live longer, healthier and have more
fulfilling lives.
You
too can make a significant difference by being a RSVP
volunteer.
